Update investment code to lure more investors

The Mindanao Development Authority (Minda) urged Local Government Units (LGUs) to craft and update its investment code.

Minda development management officer Pauline Anne Ferrero said that the code will be of big help in attracting more investors to put up shops in their areas.

“This initiative (investment code) provides a clear picture on what an investor can expect from a local government,” she said.

E-waste recycling program gets boost

MinDa pushes for renewable energy

THE Mindanao Development Authority (MinDa) pushes for more Renewable Energy (RE) power sources in Mindanao.

Romeo Montenegro, director for Investment Promotion and Public Affairs of MinDa, said accelerating RE projects will achieve an ideal energy mix, countering the projection of a significant reversal from the Mindanao’s present energy mix of 60-40 in favor of RE to 70-30 dominated by fossil in 2018.

Labor office: 20,000 jobs up for grabs in Tagum, Davao

THE Department of Labor Employment-Davao (Dole) is expecting 20,000 job offerings during this year’s Kalayaan Job Fair set Sunday, June 12.

Kriztja Marae Labrador, Dole-Davao information officer, in an interview with Sun.Star Davao yesterday said that as of June 10 there are already 127 employers that will be participating in the annual event.

This year’s staging of Kalayaan job fair will be set in two strategic locations in Davao Region, one in Kadayawan Hall in NCCC Mall, Davao City and one in New City Hall, Tagum City.
